Logistics Coordinator
This is a temp to hire, fully onsite role located in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago.
Schedule: Monday through Friday (early morning start time around 6am)
Pay Rate: $24 per hour
Our client, a nonprofit focused on providing nutritious school lunches, is looking for a Logistics Coordinator to add to their team!
Logistics Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Create and optimize daily delivery routes for a fleet of 20 delivery vans.
- Generate and distribute daily delivery sheets and dispatch instructions to drivers.
- Monitor driver progress and coordinate real-time adjustments as needed.
- Liaise with customer service team to address delivery concerns and special requests.
- Track and maintain vehicle fleet records, including mileage and condition reports.
- Schedule preventive maintenance and coordinate emergency repairs.
- Process and submit purchase orders for vehicle maintenance within budget guidelines.
- Monitor fuel consumption patterns and verify fuel company billing accuracy.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance and fuel expenses against monthly budgets.
- Ensure compliance with food safety transportation requirements.
- Coordinate with central kitchen regarding loading schedules and special requirements.
Logistics Coordiator Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.
- 2+ years experience in logistics, dispatch, or fleet management preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic accounting/budget tracking experience.
- Valid driver's license.
