Program Manager
This is a temp-to-perm position in Chicago, IL.
Start Date: flexible, no later than August 2025
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 9:00am - 5:00pm
Location: Downtown Chicago, IL
Duration: Temporary to Permanent
Compensation: $28-30/hour temp; $60,000 - $65,000 perm
Our client, a Chicago-based educational nonprofit organization, seeks a Program Manager to support, oversee, and execute year-round educational programming for Chicago area students. The ideal candidate will have experience in STEMM fields and grant writing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Program Director in planning and executing academic year and summer programming, including curriculum delivery, logistics, and scholar engagement.
- Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract diverse scholars to the STEMM program, including outreach to schools, community organizations, and partners.
- Coordinate monthly programming sessions for students, including scheduling, content development, and tracking student progress.
- During the 5-week residential program, oversee all aspects of the residential experience, ensuring student safety, well-being, and engagement in activities that promote learning and community building.
- Hire, train, and manage residential staff to deliver high-quality, engaging experiences for scholars.
- Lead daily and evening activities, ensure adherence to program guidelines, and address any issues that arise in residential life.
- Oversee grant activities related to various programs, ensuring compliance with reporting and tracking requirements.
- Collect, analyze, and manage data related to grant deliverables and program outcomes, ensuring timely submission of required reports.
- Assist the Associate Director in relationship management with current grantees, program partners, and potential collaborators.
- Proactively identify and engage with new program partners and collaborators to enhance the reach and impact of programming.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 4+ years of experience working within education or a private foundation setting.
- 3+ years of experience in program coordination, educational programming, or youth development.
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience, ideally in developing program content.
- Background in STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and Medicine) is a plus.
- Experience with grant compliance, data collection, and reporting for program deliverables.
- Experience managing residential or camp programs, including supervision of activities, safety, and staff.
- Adaptable, capable of handling shifting priorities and working autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
